Smart-GIlas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes only has till Friday to submit the complete list of the team for the FIBA-Asia Stankovic Cup and his choice for a stronger defense through Marc Pingris will not be achieved.

Marc Pingris will be unable to join the team because he is still on vacation after the neck injury he acquired in the last game he played.

Coach Chot Reyes said that he was counting on Pingris to boost the team’s rebounding and defense in which they were weak during the recently concluded William Jones Cup.

The Smart-Gilas team is set to leave the country in 12 days to go to Japan for the FIBA-Asia Cup set on September 14 to 21.
