Olongapo city govm’t enters to PPP with CEPALCO

Olongapo city government has entered into a public private sector partnership with Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. (CEPALCO) in order to accommodate the increasing demand for power supply in the city.

The city government of Olongapo entered the $13.3 million deal after its Public Utilities Department, previous handler of the city’s power distribution, acquired a high system loss and has obligations to fulfil to the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities management Corp. (PSALM).

The city’s mayor, James Gordon Jr. said that the multimillion dollar deal includes Olongapo’s power supply’s rehabilitation, management, operation, maintenance, and expansion to provide it the power supply it needs for its residents and for it business activities.
