PHL team to face rough waters in Homeless World Cup

The 2012 Homeless World Cup will be a tough journey for the Philippine team after they were drawn along strong title contenders during the group selection in Mexico, Wednesday (Manila Time) morning.

Team Philippines was drawn in Group C along Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Switzerland, Poland which has seen the finals twice, and Ukraine which was 2009’s title holder.

The team were in threat of being unable to participate for the tourney but were able to bounce back and garner sponsorships from private companies.

The Philippines which has been joining the tilt since 2009 seeks to improve its 26th place finish last year.   

The Cup will be held at Mexico City and is set on October 6 to 14
