Filipinos may be one of the first Asians to relish the newest generation of Apple Inc.’s iPhone, Smart Communications revealed.

One of the top leading mobile networks in the country divulged that they have discussed with the electronic company to be part of the second batch of countries that will receive the new iPhone.

Orlando B. Vea, Smart Communications Chief Wireless Advisor, said that they are hoping to be part of the early batches but is still awaiting Apple’s confirmation.

During the release of the iPhone 4S, the Philippines was part of the fifth batch which included Brazil, Russia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
