Corona’s tax case moves; DOJ forms panel

Former Supreme Court of the Philippines Chief Justice Renato Corona may have been impeached from his position but his trials continue as his tax evasion case moves forward with the Department of Justice forming a panel for it.

The Php150.68 million tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue against Corona and his daughter Ma. Carla Beatriz Corona-Castillo and son-in-law Constantino Castillo III will be prosecuted by Senior Asst. State Prosecutor Roseanne Balauag, and Prosecution Attorneys Ronald Estepa and Javee Laurence Bandong.

Prosecutor General Claro Arellano announced the formed panel for the case that rooted from the respondents’ wrong declaration of their income tax return (ITR).
