Award winning filmmaker Brillante Mendoza has bagged another award from a film festival in Venice for his movie, Thy Womb, which stars Nora Aunor.

Mendoza, whose movie was given a long applause after its showing, received from the Rivista del Cinematografo the La Navicella Venezia Cinema Award at the 69^th Venice Film Festival on Saturday

The La Navicella Venezia Cinema Award is given to film directors who make movies that portray human values.

The Venice Film festival began in 1949 and is considered as an illustrious meeting of international films in the globe.

The movie features the story of a midwife who wants to have a child but is unable to do so because she is infertile.
