Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Rico Puno will be out of the government agency while Philippine National Police (PNP) Nicanor Bartolome might replace him in his position.

Top executive Pres. Benigno Aquino III confirmed the issue and said that he will still ask Puno if the DILG USec would still want to work under a different agency despite the issue he is currently in.

Puno is currently on hot water after reports of him trying to barge into the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo’s condominium unit in Quezon City.

Bartolome, who will retire from his post on March 2013, is eyed by Aquino to replace Puno. The PNP chief, however, keeps mum about the issue.
